About Us at West Midlands Hire
West Midlands Hire has been trading as a family run business since 1973, originally based in Bridge Street, Smethwick the business outgrew premises. So in 1997 West Midlands Hire moved to purpose built premises on Dartmouth road a short distance form the West Bromwich Albion Football group, we are still situated here today. In 1984, we opened a second rental depot in Dudley, which is situated a short distance form the burnt tree junction.
Since 1973 we have been providing short term vehicle rental solutions – our wide range of vehicles includes small vans to brick grabs right up to 44 tonne tractor units. Our fleet consists of leading manufactures such as Mercedes-Benz, DAF, MAN, VW and many more.
Within West Midlands Hire operates a rental company, vehicle workshop and commercial vehicle sales. The vast majority of our team have been with us many years meaning they have a number of years experience within the commercial vehicle industry from vehicle rental , sales and even vehicle maintenance.
Service at our centre, family at our core
Founded by Alan and Teresa Thomas in 1968, our humble beginnings started with just one van delivering goods to local businesses. Since then, Thomas’s has grown to offer a complete range of vehicle solutions for businesses all over the UK including rentals, contract hire, sales, and maintenance.
All of our team members are highly trained within the transportation and customer service industries, with some having been with us for over 20 years. With extensive knowledge and experience of the local area, our team has a proven track record in helping companies of all sizes navigate the fast pace of business in the Midlands and beyond.
Despite our expansion, we remain committed to our original family values and attention to detail. At our core, we’re a family-run business with an increasingly large commercial capacity.
